This afternoon, I could hear some activity going on outside in the yard next to Elizmor. I poked my head over the side, and this is what I saw!
Chris Miller (marina/yard owner) and his men were getting ready with their crane to test out the spreader beams and sling setup for Elizmor’s launch, which was supposed to be a week ago but has been postponed to the New Year because of some liability issues that needed sorting. Now Chris is going to sort out the lifting gear, instead of the crane company, so today was a dry run to check they had everything we need.
It was great to watch them rig everything up, so I hung around with my camera taking some photos. I spotted the biggest shackles I have ever seen! It was really cool to see Elizmor under a crane and in slings, even if I knew she wasn’t going anywhere yet. Can’t wait for the big day.
